Before the ink was dry on the original U.S. Constitution, it was probably clear to most that, to save the republic, an amendment would ultimately be required stipulating that "A PERSON IS NOT PROPERTY". But I bet they could never have imagined a Supreme Court decision like Citizens United which would, to save the republic, call for a constitutional amendment unequivocally stating that "PROPERTY IS NOT A PERSON"!!
